Events Overview
The Association holds two major fly-ins each year and individual states organise smaller gatherings. Additionally the UK members attempt to hold a fly-in each year as well.
The major event is the Annual Convention, normally held around March each year. The AGMs for both the Airtourer Association and the Airtourer Co-operative are held at the Convention. The location of the Convention is decided by the Committee but is usually within 100NM of Wagga Wagga. History has proven that this is the best compromise between weather and accessibility constraints. Details of the next Convention are included on this page.
The President's Fly-in is held at a location decided by the incumbent President. Originally when Sonny Rankin was President it was held at his property Yarrandale, near West Wyalong, and was commonly known as the Yarrandale Fly-in. During the Tony Matthews years Parkes was the location but Hugh Knox injected some variety with fly-ins at Inverel North, Redcliffe and Cowra. In recent years we've been hosted by the Lore of Flight at Yarrawonga. See elsewhere on this page for the next President's Fly-in.
Smaller fly-ins and other social gatherings are held by state groups, Victoria being the most active, see elsewhere on this page for details of the next gathering.
The following is a list of the locations of the Conventions and Annual General Meetings.
