Who Are We
The Airtourer Association is a group of enthusiasts for the Australian designed Airtourer Aircraft. A related but separate organisation is the Airtourer Co-operative which owns the intellectual property of the Airtourer design and is responsible for ongoing airworthiness. The Airtourer Co-operative has the support of the Airtourer Association and is included in the web site. Please explore our site and share our enthusiasm for a great little aeroplane.
Farewell John Treble
It is my sad duty to report the passing of Life Member, John Treble, on Monday 18th May. John was a long serving member and held the positions of Treasurer and President at various times. He was also Editor of the Newsletter for many years, organised a number of flying safaris and was a regular attendee at our events with his wife Doreen and immaculate Airtourer VH-CRK
Doreen thanks the members who have been in contact with her and John over recent weeks but requests privacy at this difficult time. A private funeral will be held later this week.
Our thoughts and sympathy go to Doreen at this difficult time.
Christmas Gathering 2014
The weather conditions over the weekend presented a real challenge to anyone flying to the Association's Christmas gathering at Milawa in Victoria. Typically, there would not have been a problem before or after the weekend, only while our event was on. Unfortunate as this was for our flying ambitions, I can report that everyone who made it, by whatever means, had a pleasant and enjoyable weekend in good company. Thanks to the organisers and everyone who intended attending.
One of the aircraft that did make it, and luckily avoid the hail, was the newly painted BQK.
President's Fly-in 2014 - Echuca
This year's President's Fly In was held in the historic river town of Echuca. Local member David Wearne assisted greatly in coordinating our event with the EAC who provided two magnificent meals in their club rooms.
With great weather it was a good turn out with welcome drinks at the Beer Shed and a morning river cruise on the Sunday. This year we had a welcome return of the Royal Australian Air Force who supported the weekend with two CT4B aircraft and four Pilots from RAAF Base East Sale.
Also of note was the first major outing of MTL after its repaint (sporting some placards that used unusual spelling). It was also the first major trip for Graham Wood's Bonanza after an avionics upgrade. President Mike seemed to be very interested in the Bonanza...
