Back to Parkes

The weekend of 21st to 23rd September 2012 saw the Airtourer Association return to Parkes for this year's President's Fly-In. Parkes was the home of past President Tony Matthew's and saw a number of Fly-Ins in the late 80s and the 90s. This year the current President, John Treble, felt it was appropriate to return to Parkes.

Once again our hosts were the Parkes Aero Club who provided comfortable facilities and refreshments throughout the weekend.

Activities included a visit to the Parkes Radio Telescope and other local attractions.

A total of 19 aeroplanes enjoyed the clear blue skies throughout the weeknd with only one being delayed by bad weather in Tasmania. Flying activities included formation flying and introducing the locals to a piece of Australian aviation history.

The detailed report will be included in the next Newsletter.
